PLEASE NOTE THIS TRIP HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO 2021 DUE TO THE CURRENT SITUATION WITH COVID19.
This is your chance to join a bespoke ladies only (sorry guys, more for you later) cycling, yoga & pilates trip to the beautiful Haute Pyrenees.
Your base will be in the Unstoppable Pyrenees newly renovated Gites in the foothills of the French Pyrenees, between the historic sites of Chateau de Mauvezin above and Abbaye de L’Escaldieu below.
You will have the chance to challenge yourself on some of the most famous & iconic Cols (and few lesser known ones thrown in), whilst enjoying the stunning scenery and nature of the Pyrenean Mountains.
The package is completed with daily yoga/pilates specifically designed around your cycling, and options to visit the local sights, restaurants & spas.
When?
Tuesday 2 June 2020 – Sunday 7 June 2020.
Why?
The area is renowned for its fantastic cycling and being based in the foothills, the Baronnies Pyrénées you have the choice of riding rolling terrain of varying degrees all the way up to riding the legendary cols made famous by the annual visit of the Tour de France … Col du Tourmalet, Col d’Aspin, Col du Peyresourde to name but a few!
Cycling as a small group of ladies can take away some of the anxiety of ‘keeping up with the boys’ meaning, we can architect our own achievements at a pace of our choosing (faster or slower) and all within a supportive group.
No racing, no competition, just hanging out with good company and taking in some mind-blowing views.
Your Support Crew
Ben and Claire, both keen cyclists and excited to share their passion for the area, will be supporting you both on and off the bikes.
Claire is qualified in Pilates for performance and cycling (http://millstreampilates.co.uk/) & Ben is a qualified Soft Tissue Therapist, Yoga Sports Coach (sports performance) and Karuna Yoga instructor (https://www.unstoppablerhythms.com/). Both are first aiders and experienced cyclists in the mountains.
Your optional Pilates/Yoga sessions will be tailored to compliment your days riding activity to set you up for the day ahead and help you recover for the next day.
Ben and Claire will also be able to support you on your rides for ‘minor’ bike issues that occur. A support vehicle will be on call for anything more serious and any major mechanicals will require the local bike shops help. This will be chargeable at their local rate.
Bike cleaning and maintenance facilities are available at the gites to ensure your ride is ready for the following day and assistance provided should you need it.
Difficulty Level : Tailored.
If you are a regular cyclist and have a passion to explore the mountains without the pressure of ‘keeping up’ this trip is for you.
It really doesn’t matter if you’ve not ridden in the mountains before, you just have to want to! As well as being a fairly confident rider.
You will need a reasonable level of cycling fitness. If you aren’t sure if that is you, then contact us directly to chat.
No experience of Pilates or Yoga is necessary.
